Step-by-step guide to unboxing, docking station placement, Wi-Fi setup, and running the first mapping clean on the ARIOT floor-cleaning robot.
Unboxing checklist
Before powering on, confirm all items are present in the box:
- Robot unit × 1
- Docking station × 1
- Power adapter (check the rating label matches your outlet voltage before connecting)
- Cleaning pad × 2
- Quick-start card × 1
If any item is missing or the robot shows visible shipping damage, contact us through the Contact page before proceeding. Do not attempt to power on a physically damaged unit.
Docking station placement
The docking station placement is critical for reliable autonomous operation. Follow these rules:
- Wall clearance: place the station against a flat, straight wall with no objects within 50 cm on either side.
- Front clearance: keep at least 150 cm of clear floor in front of the dock. The robot approaches at an angle and needs this space to align correctly.
- Cable management: the dock power cable must not cross the robot's return path. Route it behind the dock or along the wall using the included cable clip.
- Lighting: the dock works with the front infrared beacon. Avoid placing it directly under a strong downlight that may interfere with IR reception.
Connect the power adapter to the dock and to a wall outlet. The indicator light should turn steady within 10 seconds.
Wi-Fi setup
Download the companion app from the App Store or Google Play — store links are published alongside product availability.
- Open the app and create an account (or sign in if you have one).
- Tap Add device and select Floor-cleaning robot.
- Ensure your phone is connected to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Note: 5 GHz networks are not supported in this firmware version.
- Follow the on-screen prompts. The robot will enter pairing mode automatically when powered on for the first time.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted. The robot will connect and you will see it appear in the app device list within 60 seconds.
If pairing fails, see the Wi-Fi pairing article in the support hub.
First mapping clean
The first clean run maps the space. This run takes longer than subsequent cleans — typically 20–30 minutes for a medium-sized room. During this run:
- Do not move furniture — mid-map changes will corrupt the map and require a remap.
- Keep the room clear of people and pets where possible — moving obstacles during mapping reduce map quality.
- Leave internal doors open if you want the robot to map connecting rooms in one run.
To start the first mapping clean:
- Place the robot on the docking station. Wait for the charge indicator to show at least 40%.
- Press the Clean button on the robot, or tap Start clean in the app.
- The robot will leave the dock and begin a systematic sweep.
After the first run, the map is saved to the app. Subsequent cleans use the saved map for navigation and are significantly faster.
